BEARPAW Cares

We’re looking for driven students to serve as
BEARPAW ambassadors on their college campus

Warm feet on a winter night; this small comfort is a luxury most of us take for granted. For the men, women, and children living through the conflict in Ukraine, warm boots are more than just a comfort; they’re a matter of safety and survival.

The current crisis has displaced an estimated 6.6 million people in Ukraine. Sacramento, home to the BEARPAW brand, has one of the highest concentrations of Ukrainian immigrants in the United States. When the conflict arose, we knew we had to do something to support our community of family, friends, and neighbors. BEARPAW decided to make a significant donation of warm, water-resistant suede boots for the upcoming winter season.

To complete this donation, Bearpaw partnered with the incredible people at the USA for UNHCR, who brought in My New Red Shoes to repackage the boots for transportation donated by Airlink in partnership with Flexport.org.

The BEARPAW team and our partners have worked tirelessly since July to deliver the largest donation of boots to the vulnerable population in Ukraine. The first delivery of 120,000 pairs of winter boots arrived in early October, just ahead of the coldest season, with the remaining shipments to be distributed over the next few weeks.

We at BEARPAW can’t even begin to imagine the uncertainty the people of Ukraine face, but we hope our efforts will help the people and children of Ukraine get through the coming winter months. I want to thank our employees and our partners for supporting this endeavor. We hope this brings the people of Ukraine a bit of comfort and a reminder that we stand with them.
